ERWorld 2011 Round Up

The second running of ERWorld (an online event dedicated to the ERwin user community) was held last week.

If you missed it, you can still register for the on-demand reruns and catch up on some great presentations. In particular, I would draw your attention to CA ERwin Modeling: Today and Tomorrow by Neil Buchwalter, CA ERwin Product Manager, and the two Sandhill contributions:

  • Building an Enterprise Data Model by Ham Hayes
  • Design Layer Architecture for Data by Jeff Harris

In his presentation, Neil trailed the upcoming release of r8.2, incorporating:

  • a new “cloud” edition, for use with Microsoft SQL Azure
  • the inclusion of “active” model templates
  • new web 2.0 features for discovery and publication of ERwin metadata
  • concurrent licensing
The release is scheduled before the end of the year, but we will of course keep you informed of any developments.

is it possible to have the powerpoint/pdf of jeff Harris presentation? That easier to talk about and share with colleagues.

Hi Liesbeth, if you register, as mentioned above, you can download PDFs of the presentations from the Resource Centre once logged in.

Just click on the presentation you’re interested in and then click the Download button.
